I’m Bonnie Rice. I’ve been a writer most of my life, but it’s taken years of experience to get to the point where I can write books I am comfortable sharing with the public.I’ve been through four years of college, Air Force basic and electronics training, a marriage that included years of domestic violence and the discovery that my husband was mentally ill, raising four sons, learning to work together with my husband to overcome his disorder and have a happy marriage, and finally quitting my day job to write full-time.I have been doing business as GET-O-LIFE publishing for over twenty years, since I started offering home organization advice in 1990. I am in the process of updating those materials for modern families and will be releasing WHATEVER WORKS: Home Organization for the Rest of Us in time for Christmas 2012.
LOVE HAS ITS UPS AND DOWNS: With a Bipolar Spouse was written while I was working with my husband to stabilize his disorder and to make our marriage the true partnership marriage is meant to be. I give him all the credit for making this family work–he definitely did the hard parts. I just kept encouraging him and writing it all down. If you want to learn to live happily ever after with a partner who has bipolar, do read the book. It could save your marriage.
Just in time for my 51st birthday, my husband encouraged me to quit my day job and let him support me. He has completed a truck driver training course and has been driving for over 6 months and we have determined that we can survive on his income even if the books don’t make a lot of money. It’s a scary decision, but it could be the only way to get the word out about LOVE to all of the people who need the information.
Stepping out into the great unknown, I hope to help people with bipolar in the family and maybe inspire others to take some chances. Dreams are intended to inspire you to greatness–not to put you back to sleep. Step out with me…
